Jailed sex trafficking victim, Cyntoia Brown has once again sparked up conversation on social media under the hashtag, #FreeCyntoiaBrown about the American justice system and its “unfair” treatment of its citizens.
Rihanna, Snoop Dogg, Kim Kardashian are among a number of celebrities that went on social media to raise awareness and try to free Cyntoia Brown.
Cyntoia was arrested in 2004, then 16 years old, and charged as an adult for the murder of a 43-year-old man who picked her up on the side of the road in Nashville, Tennessee. She was found guilty of first-degree premeditated murder, first-degree felony murder and aggravated robbery. She was convicted and sentenced to 60 years in prison and will serve 51 years before she can be considered for parole.
